BASIS: A Genesis in Musical Interfaces

Mat Laibowitz

Proceedings of the International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression

Abstract:

This paper is a demo proposal for a new musical interfacebased on a DNA-like double-helix and concepts in charactergeneration. It contains a description of the interface, motivations behind developing such an interface, variousmappings of the interface to musical applications, and therequirements to demo the interface.
