Abstract:

In this paper, we describe a course of research investigating thepotential for new types of music made possible by locationtracking and wireless technologies. Listeners walk arounddowntown Culver City, California and explore a new type ofmusical album by mixing together songs and stories based ontheir movement. By using mobile devices as an interface, wecan create new types of musical experiences that allowlisteners to take a more interactive approach to an album.
