The STRIMIDILATOR: a String Controlled MIDI-Instrument

Marije A. Baalman

Proceedings of the International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression

Abstract:

The STRIMIDILATOR is an instrument that uses the deviation and the vibration of strings as MIDI-controllers. Thismethod of control gives the user direct tactile force feedbackand allows for subtle control. The development of the instrument and its different functions are described.
